:Introduction

The consequences of global climate changes are well-observed nowadays, necessitating the implementation of sustainable practices into every community operation. Here, in Al-Zahrawi University, multiple actions were taken to counteract the climate change effect including: reducing the emission of greenhouse gases, reserving resources, encouraging sustainable research and education.

:Objectives of climate action policy in Al-Zahrawi University

Ø Minimizing greenhouse gases emission: By applying different measures to reduce the generation of these gases with university campus

Ø Achieving carbon neutrality by 2030: To accomplish this objective, the university will implement a comprehensive sustainable strategy

Ø Encouraging the use of renewable energy sources: To reduce the use of fossil fuel in campus operations, the university is gradually shifting toward clean energy sources

Ø Conserving water and energy consumption: By applying conservative and efficient practices, Al-Zahrawi University is aiming to decrease the in-campus expenditure of both water and energy

Ø Waste recycling and management: Several approaches should be applied to reduce waste production while increasing recycling process

Ø Education and research: Encouraging sustainable practices through integration into education courses and research projects

Ø Supporting eco-friendly sustainable initiatives: By implementing green building standards into all campus construction projects. Also, by encouraging public transportation inside and outside university campus

Ø Public disclosure: All reported parameters, progress and practices related to climate action policy should be made public to ensure transparent behaviour
