Al-Zahrawi University is committed to environmental, ethical and sustainable standards in all of its procurement and purchasing activities. Th application of this policy can secure the university operational and academic needs of goods and services while maintaining alignment with sustainability. This policy is considered mandatory to all departments, colleges and administration units of the university

:Procedure for procurement and purchasing

  • Planning of procurement: the designated department must its needs of goods and services and also secure the required fund in advance
  • Selection of the supplier: The supplier of the services or goods must be selected based on his ability to deliver the required quality in a cost effective and sustainable manner. Bidding is considered mandatory for high value goods and services
  • Purchasing method: direct purchasing is considered applicable for low value goods and services while bidding and tendering are usede for high value purchasing
  • Sustainable procurement: The university encourages the purchase of goods and services that have positive environmental effect
  • Ethical considerations: Any conflict of interests must be reported and disclosed
  • Approval and documentation of procurement activities: The purchase of specific goods or services must be approved by a designated authority. Moreover, all purchases must be documented

  • Assessment and reviewing of the purchasing policy: The university should regularly evaluate
    the effectiveness of the policy and considers the feedback mechanism in the revision of the policy
